Are your products vegetarian?
Absolutely. None of our products contain animal ingredients, and
all are 100% vegetarian and vegan.
Do you use whole soybeans in your beverages?
Absolutely. All our soy beverages are made from whole soybeans.
We use no soy powder, concentrate, or isolate. We select only the
finest ingredients for our top quality products.
Do you use artificial flavours?
No. We use only natural or organic flavours.
How do your beverages compare with milk?
Our enriched soy beverages are an excellent alternative to milk
because they are as high in calcium and vitamin D without the discomfort
often associated with lactose. They are also trans fat free and
low in saturated fat.
Are your beverages organic?
All YÜ beverages are made from QAI-certified organic ingredients.
Earth Shake beverages are made from healthy grain certified grains
which are certified GMO and chemical free.
Are your products gluten free?
All YÜ beverages are gluten free. However, Earth Shake beverages
contain oats, a source of gluten.
Are your beverages lactose free?
Absolutely. All our beverages are 100% lactose free.
Are YÜ and Earth Shake products cholesterol free?
Yes, of course!
Do your beverages contain trans fats?
Not at all! Our beverages contain no trans fat.
Do they contain Omega 3?
YÜ and Earth Shake beverages are an excellent source of Omega
3—300 mg per serving for YÜ and 500 mg per serving for
Earth Shake. Two servings of either meet the daily requirement for
Omega 3.
Are your products high in sugar?
Not at all! YÜ rice beverage contains no added sugar. YÜ
soy and Earth Shake beverages contain very little organic cane sugar
and less glucose than a glass of juice or milk. Our products also
contain less sugar than the competition—compare the labels!
What does YÜ mean?
YÜ has a number of meanings. First of all, it’s a twist
on the word “you,” because YÜ is made for you!
The two dots were added to create a happy face—a little reminder
that YÜ cares about your health. In other languages, this word
means friend, precious, or organic.
Can your beverages be frozen?
Yes—simply shake well after thawing. You can also use individual
size Earth Shake drink boxes as an icepack in lunchboxes.
Can your beverages be heated?
Absolutely. YÜ Soy Latté Chai is especially delicious
when served hot like tea. You can use all our beverages instead
of milk in your recipes for soups, sauces, cakes, muffins, and more.
How can I use your beverages?
You can use them as a delicious alternative to milk in your morning
cereals, substitute YÜ or Earth Shake for the same amount of
milk in your favourite recipes and in your coffee, or simply enjoy
these delightfully wholesome beverages at any time of day!
It’s sometimes hard to remove the seal under the
cap!
Unfortunately, the seal may sometimes be applied improperly during
the mechanical packaging process. When that happens, simply pierce
it with the tip of a knife.
Can babies drink soy beverages?
Our nutritionist, Ms. Hélène Baribeau, recommends
waiting until babies are a year old before giving them soy beverages,
since soy may cause an allergic reaction in rare cases.
I have started adding a soy beverage to my diet and it
makes me bloated. Why?
This may happen to some people due to the hydrocarbons that soybeans
contain. You should start with small portions to allow your body
to get used to digesting this healthy food, then gradually increase
your consumption.
What is the difference between regular and multigrain soy
beverages?
The main difference is that the added grains in multigrain beverages
create an ideal balance between essential and nonessential amino
acids. By adding grains, we also don’t have to add as much
sugar as in regular soy beverages, since grains are naturally sweet.
Added grains do not reduce the protein content of soy, so you get
all the benefits of soy plus a source of soluble fibre. Last, grains
enhance the delightful flavour of multigrain beverages because they
blend wonderfully with the taste of soy.
Why did you add oats to Earth Shake?
For an even more delightful flavour! Oats blend wonderfully with
the taste of soy and make our drinks pleasantly smooth. And oats—like
soy—have many health benefits, including lowering your blood
cholesterol.
Why do you use basmati rice instead of conventional rice
in YÜ rice beverages?
Because basmati (meaning “scented”) is an aromatic rice
with a fine, delicate taste. It’s much more flavourful than
conventional rice and gives our beverages a delightfully exotic
taste.
Grown in India for over 8,000 years, it is considered the crème
de la crème of rice by connoisseurs!
Where do you produce your beverages?
YÜ and Earth Shake beverages are made in Val-Bélair
in the province of Quebec, Canada, from mostly Canadian ingredients.
YÜ rice beverage is also the only rice beverage made in Canada.
Can I buy direct from the manufacturer?
No, because shipping costs for a small quantity would be far too
high compared to the store price.
What are the benefits of Tetra Pak containers?
Tetra Pak containers keep our beverages fresh without preservatives
and require no refrigeration for 12 months. They also prevent light,
bacteria, and air from penetrating the sealed container, plus they
are made from environmentally friendly materials.
Can I cook with YÜ and Earth Shake?
Absolutely. You can replace the milk in your favourite recipes with
YÜ and Earth Shake health beverages. They provide as much calcium
and vitamin D as milk without the discomfort often associated with
lactose. They’re great for cooking and contain no trans fat.
Where can I get YÜ and Earth Shake?
At most health food stores and large supermarket chains.
What does “certified organic” mean?
A product is not organic by definition—the “manufacturing”
process makes it so. Organic products come from organic farming.
“Organic” is an overall concept based on certain values,
such as respect for the earth, biological cycles, health, the environment,
and animal welfare. Technically, it is an agricultural production
technique based on a set of methods that avoids the use of synthetic
chemicals. It is aimed at producing food free of pollutants without
harming the environment.
Organic products are defined by four main guidelines:
- Organic agricultural products are grown without fertilizers
or chemicals.
- Animals are given organic feed and treated preferably with
homeopathy, phytotherapy, aromatherapy, etc. They are also raised
in an environment with access to the outdoors and maximum living
space.
- Processed products are made from organically produced agricultural
ingredients and non-agricultural ingredients (additives, flavours,
etc.). Any non-organic supplement is inspected and authorized
by the current American regulation.
- All organic producers are certified and subject to regular
inspection by an independent regulatory agency certified by the
Department of Agriculture.
